Hello, I'm Kristijonas Sakalauskas, a trumpeter, composer, arranger, teacher, and band leader from the beautiful country of Lithuania. I began playing the trumpet at a young age and later graduated from M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts and the Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy, where I earned both my bachelor's and master's degrees in trumpet studies.
My professional journey began with the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, followed by a position in the Lithuanian military wind band, and then the Lithuanian National Defence Volunteer Forces big band. For 12 years, I served as concertmaster, lead trumpet, and assistant conductor in the Vilnius University wind band "Oktava." Currently, I am a member of the Lithuanian Academy brass band "Brass LT," which won the European Brass Band Championship in the Challenger section.
With years of experience across various ensembles, I am passionate about creating and arranging music in all genres and styles, with a particular fascination for jazz and big band music, while also having the versatility to compose for orchestras of all types.
